Customizing and Testing Zaymo's Reactivation Module
Last updated: May 8, 2026
The Reactivation Module in Zaymo offers several customization options and testing capabilities to help you optimize your subscription reactivation campaigns. This guide covers key features and behaviors you should understand when working with the module.
Testing Your Reactivation Emails
When sending test emails from Zaymo, the behavior depends on your preview settings:
Demo Mode for Safe Testing:
Demo mode allows you to test with live Klaviyo profiles without affecting actual customer subscriptions
When demo mode is enabled and you send test emails in Zaymo, the demo mode carries over to those test emails
Exporting to Klaviyo always allows real actions to occur, regardless of whether demo mode is on or off in Zaymo
To test discount functionality specifically, you must use real mode with a test profile, as discounts won't be passed through in demo mode
For accurate testing of functionality, use "Klaviyo profile" preview mode with your test account and turn off "Demo profile" to see how the email will actually appear to customers.
Test from Zaymo, not Klaviyo: A critical mistake is sending test emails directly from Klaviyo instead of from Zaymo's interface when an event is needed to populate the Zaymo blocks. When testing from Klaviyo, dynamic blocks may not render correctly in preview emails, even though they will display properly in the actual campaign. To test accurately, use Klaviyo events (such as “Subscription cancelled on Recharge”) or Klaviyo profiles within Zaymo's preview interface.
Double Confirmation Feature
To reduce accidental clicks and customer support tickets, Zaymo includes a 'Double Confirmation' setting:
Access this setting by clicking on the CTA button in the template editor
When enabled, customers must confirm their action after clicking the reactivation button
This helps prevent unintended reactivations
Note that there is no undo functionality available once a reactivation is confirmed
Subscription Display Settings
You can control how many cancelled subscriptions appear in your reactivation emails:
Use the 'Max Subscriptions Shown' setting in the right panel of the template editor
Display up to 3 recently cancelled subscriptions
Subscriptions are automatically sorted by most recently cancelled first
Integration Timing and Behavior
Understanding how Zaymo integrates with Recharge is important for setting customer expectations:
Changes made through Zaymo emails immediately impact Recharge subscriptions
Customers can log into their Recharge portal immediately after clicking to see updates
All successful actions appear in Recharge activity logs with timestamps
Reactivation timing follows Recharge's default rules and cannot be controlled through Zaymo
Payment and Product Considerations
Payment Method Validation: If a customer's credit card is invalid or expired, reactivation actions will fail following Recharge's standard reactivation behavior.
Discount Application: Discount codes are applied at the address level in Recharge's system, meaning the discount applies to the specific shipping address where the reactivation is being processed.
When testing discount functionality in Zaymo, note that demo mode will not pass discount codes through for verification—you must test in real mode with a test profile to confirm discount behavior.
Product and Pricing Updates:
If product prices have been updated since cancellation, Recharge will reactivate the subscription with the current price
For deleted products or SKUs, the system follows Recharge's standard handling of cancelled subscriptions
These features and behaviors help ensure your reactivation campaigns work smoothly while providing customers with a clear and reliable experience.
