Win back cancelled bundles

← Back to Bundle Builder

The Bundle Builder can bring back a customer's cancelled bundle. They choose what goes in it, tap Reactivate, and their subscription starts again with those items.

Two ways to reactivate

Bundle setting When reactivation happens
The recipient's most recent cancelled bundle Always. The block shows the customer's last cancelled bundle. If there isn't one, the block is hidden.
A specific bundle When the customer only has that bundle cancelled, and no active one. The block shows their cancelled bundle to reactivate instead of selling them a new one.

Example: A block is set to the fixed-price "Meat Box — 6". A customer who cancelled their Meat Box 6 last month opens the email. Instead of being asked to buy a new Meat Box, they see their old one, ready to edit and reactivate.

What the customer sees

  • Their old bundle, with the items they had.

  • Items that were deleted or sold out since they cancelled are removed. The counter shows the bundle needs refilling, and Save stays off until it's full.

  • The button reads Reactivate. It uses the same wording (and translations) as your Reactivate block.

A cancelled bundle ready to reactivate, with a Reactivate button
  • After saving, they see "Welcome back" and "Your bundle subscription is active again with the items you picked."

What happens when they reactivate

  1. The bundle is checked first. Nothing changes if the items, size or schedule wouldn't be accepted.
  2. The subscription is reactivated, and its next order is set for tomorrow.
  3. Their new items are saved, along with any upgrade.
  4. If anything fails after the subscription restarts, it's cancelled again with the customer's original cancellation reason. They're never left with a half-restored subscription.

Things to know

  • Discounts come back too. A discount code already on the customer's account stays in place.
  • The Reactivate metric is sent only when a save actually reactivates a subscription. A fixed-price bundle's value is its price.
  • Emails exported before this feature existed never reactivate. In those emails, a customer with only a cancelled bundle is offered a new one instead. Re-export the email to turn reactivation on.
  • If the bundle is cancelled after the email loaded, saving with Save changes is refused rather than reactivating. The customer can open the email again to see the reactivate option.
  • Schedule changes: turn on Allow users to switch selling plans to let customers pick a new schedule as they reactivate. Otherwise, a bundle from the "most recent cancelled bundle" choice comes back on its old schedule.
