Agent: edit your email with AI
Last updated: November 5, 2026
Agent is a chat panel inside the builder that makes changes for you. Describe what you want in plain language, and it edits the template directly instead of you clicking through settings yourself. It works in both the email builder and the form builder, though what it can do is a bit different in each.
Where to find it
Open any email or form in the builder and look at the right-hand settings panel. Agent is the first tab, marked with a sparkle icon, ahead of Styling, Content, and Visibility. Unlike the other tabs, Agent isn't tied to whatever block you have selected - it's a single ongoing conversation about the whole document, so it stays available whether you've selected a block or nothing at all. If you land on the builder with nothing selected, Agent is the tab you'll see by default.
What you can ask it to do in an email
Agent can look at your email and make real changes to it, including:
Changing text, colors, fonts, spacing, and other settings on a block
Adding a new block from Zaymo's block list
Removing or duplicating a block
Moving a block somewhere else in the email
Pointing a block at one of your products, forms, or action buttons by name - you don't need to know the underlying ID, just describe which one you mean
It can also look at a picture of your email when a question is really about how something looks - spacing, alignment, or whether two colors match - rather than guessing from settings alone.
Changes beyond block settings
Agent isn't limited to the settings you see in the panel. In the email builder it can also work on the email's underlying layout and styling directly, so it can handle requests beyond those settings - for example custom styling, restructuring plain text, images, and tables, or tidying up something that's causing a problem.
This also works inside Zaymo's interactive blocks. Agent can restyle a part of a block that has no setting for it, add your own text or images inside a block, or remove a part you don't want - for example, changing the look of the buttons inside a product grid. It keeps the pieces the block needs to work, so a few requests inside interactive blocks will come back with a short explanation instead of a change:
Moving a part to a different spot inside a block. Parts stay where the block puts them, unless the block's own settings let you move them.
Removing a part the block can't work without, like the buttons that make it interactive or the links that send shoppers to checkout.
Changing content the block fills in for you from your store, like product names and prices. Change those at the source, or through the block's settings.
Hiding a part of a block with styling. Use the block's own settings, or Visibility, for that.
Editing a Form block inside an email. A Form block always shows your published form, so make the change in the form builder instead (Agent works there too - see below).
If a change wouldn't survive the next time the email is opened, Agent tells you and leaves the block as it was, rather than making a change that quietly disappears.
To keep your email working, there are a few other things it won't touch this way:
Shared universal content blocks. Edit those from the universal content block itself so the change reaches every email that uses it.
Scripts or embedded content, which email clients block anyway.
Blocks that came from Klaviyo. When an email is converted from Klaviyo, some of its blocks stay Klaviyo blocks, and the builder labels them "This block can only be edited in Klaviyo". Agent leaves those blocks alone, so make any changes to them in Klaviyo's editor.
Creating a product feed or Swap Up offer
If what you're asking for needs a new product feed or Swap Up configuration behind it, Agent can set that up too. It will always show you exactly what it's about to create first and wait for you to confirm before anything is actually saved - it won't create something in the background without asking.
Attaching images and files
You can give Agent files to work from. Click the + next to the message box, or drag files straight onto the chat.
Images (PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF) - ask Agent to put one into your email ("use this as the hero image"), or share a screenshot or mockup so it can see what you mean ("make the buttons look like this").
PDFs, text files, CSVs, and spreadsheets - for example a brand guide or a list of copy to use.
You can attach up to 10 files at a time. Each file can be up to 20 MB (spreadsheets up to 5 MB).
Fixing problems Zaymo flags
If Zaymo spots something in your email that might not work in Gmail, an amber Potential issues badge appears at the top of the builder. Click it, then click Fix with Agent. Agent opens with the list of problems and works on fixing them. As with any Agent change, you'll see each fix in the chat and can undo it.
This button shows in the email builder only. For more on what the badge means, see How do I handle a validation error?.
What you can ask it to do in a form
Agent also works in the standalone form builder. There, it can:
Add, remove, or reorder questions
Change a question's title or its answer choices
Update the form's logic rules (the show/hide and branching rules on the Logic tab)
Change styling and content on the form's other blocks - colors, fonts, spacing, and text
A few things work differently for forms than for email:
Agent can't look at a picture of your form the way it can for an email - it works from the form's questions and settings only.
Individual questions can only be added, removed, or reordered through Agent's question actions above, not moved or duplicated the way a regular block can. If you ask it to move or copy a question, it will tell you to use reorder or add/remove instead.
The "Changes beyond block settings" abilities above are for emails only.
When it needs more from you
Agent sometimes needs a bit more information before it can act:
It may ask you a quick multiple-choice question rather than guessing. You can also always type your own answer instead of picking one of the options.
If it's not sure which block on the canvas you mean, it will ask you to click the one you're talking about directly, rather than describing it back and forth.
Reviewing and undoing changes
Every change Agent makes shows up as its own line in the conversation, in plain language (for example, "Changed button color to Navy"). Hovering over one highlights the exact block it affected on the canvas, so you can always see what changed and where. If you don't like a specific change, you can undo just that one from its line in the chat - the rest of what Agent did stays in place. An undo from Agent is a normal edit, so it also works with your regular Undo (Cmd/Ctrl+Z) and saves like any other change.
Your conversation with Agent stays in place as you keep working - switching to another tab or selecting a different block doesn't lose it, so you can pick the conversation back up later in the same session.
A few things to know
It works within the email or form you already have open - it edits the current document rather than generating a brand-new one from scratch.
In the email builder, the only interactive blocks it can add are the ones in Zaymo's block list, and it can only point a block at products, forms, or action sets your organization already has set up. Plain content like text, images, and tables it can build directly.
In the form builder, it edits your questions and logic directly rather than adding new question blocks freehand - see "What you can ask it to do in a form" above for exactly what's supported.
