Customizing and Configuring the Zaymo Reactivation Module
Last updated: September 14, 2026
This article covers the key configuration options, styling capabilities, and limitations of Zaymo's Reactivation Module, including widget behavior, styling, Recharge integration, and testing best practices.
Widget Functionality and Data Sources
The Reactivation Module only displays cancelled subscriptions to customers. Active subscriptions will not appear in the reactivate widget.
Subscription names displayed in the widget are pulled directly from your Shopify store. If your product or subscription names are in a specific language in Shopify, they will automatically appear in that same language in Zaymo and in reactivation emails.
Subscription frequency labels (such as "Bi-Monthly") are generated by Zaymo and are not pulled from Shopify. These labels cannot currently be customized.
Widget Alignment and Styling
The following styling options are available for the Reactivation widget:
Alignment: The widget is centered by default. Left alignment is not currently supported.
Button width: Click the border of the reactivate block, then under Styling, change the button width from Fill to Fit.
Text sizing: Double-click on the text within the widget and adjust the size in the right panel.
Mobile vs. desktop sizing: The widget can be styled differently for mobile and desktop views.
Setting Different Font Sizes for Mobile and Desktop
Font sizes cannot be changed independently for the same text box across mobile and desktop. The recommended workaround is:
Create two separate text boxes with your desired content.
Set one text box to Desktop Only visibility with your preferred desktop font size.
Set the other text box to Mobile Only visibility with your preferred mobile font size.
To control visibility per device, click on the block or element and select the Visibility tab (next to the Content tab). Options include Mobile Only, Desktop Only, or Both. When a block is set to mobile-only, it will be hidden in the desktop editor view, and vice versa. Toggle between mobile and desktop views at the top of the editor to preview each version.
Styling Limitations
Be aware of the following current limitations:
Global theme updates (such as button radius changes) are not retroactive and will not automatically apply to existing widgets. To apply new global theme settings, either re-add the widget to the email or manually adjust the styling in the widget's local style settings.
Spacing and gaps within the widget itself cannot be customized.
The color of the Manage my subscription text and arrow cannot be customized.
Discount Codes and Product Display
For reactivation campaigns, discount codes must exist in Shopify and Recharge (if using) for proper functionality. When adding a discount offer to the Reactivate block, pre-apply the discount in the Reactivate block settings.
Out-of-stock variants will be shown in the widget but grayed out, rather than hidden, to avoid customer confusion.
The ability to hide specific products from the reactivation widget is not currently available.
Recharge Integration and Access Control
Zaymo's reactivation functionality operates independently from Recharge customer portal settings. This means you can disable self-service reactivation in the Recharge customer portal while still allowing customers to reactivate through Zaymo's winback emails.
Zaymo connects to Recharge using your merchant API key (the same access level as your Recharge admin dashboard). When a customer clicks reactivate in a Zaymo email, the action is performed on the merchant side rather than the customer side.
This setup is useful for preventing abuse — for example, stopping customers from sharing reactivation links to regain previous pricing — while still maintaining a controlled reactivation flow through targeted winback emails.
Testing the Reactivation Widget
Important: Test emails sent from Klaviyo containing Zaymo widgets are live emails. Any actions taken during testing — such as clicking a reactivation button — will affect actual subscriber data.
To safely test the Reactivation Module, use Zaymo's Demo Mode feature. Demo Mode prevents accidental changes to subscriber accounts, so you can test the widget without unintentionally reactivating real subscriptions.
Publishing changes to Klaviyo
If the message is attached to a Klaviyo flow, click Publish. The first time, this pushes it straight into the flow's message in Klaviyo. After that, Zaymo watches for changes and republishes automatically a few seconds after you stop editing — you generally won't need to come back and push updates by hand.
Exception: transactional messages. If the message is marked transactional in Klaviyo, auto-sync won't push updates on its own — publishing would remove that status, so Zaymo pauses and asks you to confirm by clicking Publish yourself. Once confirmed, Zaymo re-applies for transactional status automatically; approval usually lands within the hour, but can take up to a business day. During that window, the message is treated as marketing, so anyone opted out of marketing won't receive it.
If you're working from a standalone template or a campaign, click Publish and follow the on-screen steps to update it in Klaviyo.
After publishing, a new slot is created in Zaymo analytics. Existing data from the previous version is retained and will not be lost.
Delay Option Configuration Best Practices
If customers are frequently selecting extended delays (e.g., 4 weeks), consider the following best practices to improve near-term conversions:
Set the default delay to the time frame most aligned with your ideal reorder cadence.
Offer a shorter range of delay options (e.g., days instead of weeks).
Test a version with fewer long delay options to see if it improves immediate or near-term conversions.
Fallback Landing Page and Hyperlinks
The fallback landing page uses branding colors from your Zaymo settings. You can customize the background color, logo, and favicon.
Hyperlinks can't be added directly in Zaymo's text boxes. If you exported using the new Klaviyo-native format, add or edit the hyperlink directly in Klaviyo and sync it back in — see .
Otherwise, the recommended workflow is:
Build your template in Klaviyo first, including all elements and hyperlinks.
Bring the Klaviyo template into Zaymo.
In the interactive version, delete any unnecessary text and replace it with Zaymo widgets as needed.
